Compensation: Stipend-based pay, commensurate with experience (Between $1000-$1950)

Housing: Provided for contract duration

ABOUT THE ROLE

Scranton Shakespeare Festival is seeking Stage Managers to join our team for the Summer 2026 Season.

Our summer operates as a fast-paced, repertory-style festival environment. Multiple productions may overlap in rehearsal and performance. We are looking for highly organized, proactive leaders who thrive in a collaborative, high-expectation setting.

Stage Managers are central to the success of our season. You will serve as the communication hub between directors, designers, performers, and producing leadership while maintaining the artistic and operational integrity of each production.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Create and maintain rehearsal schedules in coordination with producers and production supervisor
Run rehearsals and maintain discipline, pace, and focus in the room
Record blocking, cues, and production updates
Maintain and distribute rehearsal and performance reports
Build and maintain the prompt book
Call cues and oversee performances
Coordinate technical rehearsals and transitions
Support company morale and foster a positive working environment
Ensure venue operations policies are followed during rehearsals and performances

IDEAL CANDIDATE

Prior stage management experience in educational, community, or professional theatre or those majoring in Stage Management at an accredited university.
Strong organizational and communication skills
Calm, decisive leadership style
Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
Detail-oriented with excellent follow-through
Available full-time for the full season, June 6 – August 3, 2026
Non-local applicants welcome. Must be able to work on-site in Scranton for the duration of the contract
