Venue: The Shakes Space @ The Marketplace at Steamtown

Compensation: Stipend-based pay, commensurate with experience ($750-$900)

Housing: Provided for June and July

ABOUT THE ROLE

Scranton Shakespeare Festival is seeking a highly organized and resourceful Props Coordinator for our Summer 2026 Season.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys the intersection of creativity and logistics. Our productions operate on lean budgets and in an intimate performance space. We are looking for someone who can source, build, track, and maintain props efficiently while supporting directors and stage management teams with precision and care.

The Props Coordinator plays a critical role in bringing the world of each production to life.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Attend production meetings and collaborate with directors and designers

• Create and maintain detailed props lists

• Source, purchase, borrow, or build props within budget

• Track all props from rehearsal through performance

• Coordinate rehearsal props and final performance pieces

• Maintain organization and storage systems

• Oversee prop presets and backstage prop flow in coordination with stage management

• Support load-in and strike processes

  
  

IDEAL CANDIDATE

• Local to Scranton with knowledge of the local stores and facilities

• Previous props, stage management, or production experience

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

• Creative problem-solver who can work within limited budgets

• Comfortable sourcing items locally and thinking resourcefully

• Able to manage multiple productions simultaneously

• Available on-site in Scranton for the duration of the contract

• Non-local applicants welcome. Housing provided for June and July
