ABOUT THE ROLE

Scranton Shakespeare Festival is seeking a Stage Manager to join the team for our 2026 Irish Play Series production of Juno and the Paycock.

We’re looking for someone organized, upbeat, and unflappable who thrives in a fast-moving rehearsal room and understands the balance between structure and flexibility in a live theatre environment.

The Stage Manager will serve as the central communication hub between the director, cast, and production team, ensuring smooth rehearsals and seamless performances from first read-through to closing night.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage rehearsal schedules, calls, and production logistics

  • Record blocking, cues, and updates throughout rehearsals

  • Coordinate transitions and scene changes during performances

  • Maintain the prompt book and cue script

  • Liaise between creative, technical, and administrative teams

  • Support the cast and crew in creating a positive, focused working environment


IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • Previous stage management experience (educational, community, or professional)

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills

  • Calm under pressure with strong attention to detail

  • A strong love for theatre and collaborative process

  • Local to Scranton, PA or able to self-report to rehearsals and performances
