AUDITION MATERIALS
Monologue 1 (for Chester)
Folks, welcome back to Scranton's Got Talent sponsored by Van Scoy’s Diamond Mine, that’s Van Scoy’s Diamond Mine on Mundy Street, on Mundy Street, onnnnn Mundy Street. I know that I was booed off the stage earlier because of my Schwarzenegger impersonation, but I told you I’d be back! We’ve truly had some fantastic acts here tonight, and let me once again remind you that the winner will be taking home 100 shillings, 3 sacks of grain and 2 goats with a recording contract! Now, the punctuation here is tricky—I’m not sure if you will be receiving the recording contract or that it’s the two goats that have a recording contract—but either way, not a bad prize! A big thank you to our earlier contestants! Erika Funke and her funky ventriloquist dummy, McGloin. Her hobbies are embroidery and glove making. What can I say, she likes to have her hand in things! And how about Hugo Selenski and his incredible handcuff escape and disappearing magic act. Honestly, that was so good it was criminal. And can I apologize, once again, for that juggler’s performance earlier when he found it was impossible to do his act. Folks, he simply didn’t have the balls.
Monologue 2 (for Prince)
Thank you, so are you! Very handsome. I mean…uh…beautiful…but handsome as well! Women can be handsome too! Gender’s just a construct, right?…uhm…so…fine day, is it not? What are you doing all the way out here in the woods of Sherwood Park? You see, I’m just out here…thinking. Walking. I’m thinking about walking…I uh…I work for the prince! Yes! I’m his…uhm…royal assistant! That’s right. And I’m just thinking if this would be an acceptable and safe place for him to walk! And…yep…it seems pretty good.
