Barber Benjamin Barker returns to Victorian London under the guise of Sweeney Todd after a wrongful conviction by the lecherous Judge Turpin in this chilling, macabre tale set to Stephen Sondheim’s masterful and dissonant score. Consumed by a thirst to avenge his wife and daughter, Todd reopens his barber shop on Fleet Street, where he and cunning pie shop owner Mrs. Lovett lure victims into his chair. Together, they descend into a spiral of depravity, as Todd’s obsession with revenge pushes him to commit unspeakable acts and Londoners unknowingly become the most delicious ingredient on the menu.
