About the event
"Ah, what can God do against the stupidity of men?” asks Juno Boyle in Sean O’Casey’s masterpiece, Juno and the Paycock. Set in 1922 in a Dublin tenement during the Irish Civil War, the play follows the Boyle family and explores the devastating consequences of war, poverty, dreams, and denial on a family and a nation. Both hilarious and heartbreaking, this second of O’Casey’s Dublin Trilogy is a tragi-comic triumph that reflects on the resilience of a mother in a nation torn apart by war.
